TWC’s Kris Cannon Appointed to NBAA Security Council

Kris CannonThe NBAA announced that Kris Cannon, TWC Aviation’s Director of Safety and Security, has been named as the newest member of the NBAA Security Council. At TWC, he oversees international flight activities, performs aircrew defense and travel training, and institutes safety protocols for all 300+ employees around the globe. Kris also teaches Corporate Aviation Safety at the University of Southern California.

The NBAA Security Council is a group of aviation safety professionals who offer guidance to flight departments in a post-September 11 environment. This includes the creation, maintenance, and promotion of aviation security best practices, interpreting and implementing TSA and other governmental agency regulations, and other important responsibilities. The council is also the liaison between members of the private, corporate, and cargo aviation industry as well as the nation’s policy makers, ensuring that each of us has a voice in legislation.

TWC Aviation is an aircraft management company, serving as a corporate flight department to a worldwide fleet of private business aircraft. Kris’ expertise and training in both Charter 135 and Owner 91 operations gives him a unique perspective. As a member of the council, his participation in the ongoing dialogue and sharing of best practices will enhance safety, privacy, security, and confidentiality in TWC’s operations. He will also be in position to help communicate the unique needs of business aviation to governmental organizations, and work with them to develop improved policies and procedures that raise the level of safety throughout our industry.

TWC Aviation Hires Richard Thompson, Opens New England Office

Richard ThompsonTWC Aviation, Inc., a worldwide leader in the private business jet industry, today announced that it has hired industry veteran Richard Thompson as Director of Aircraft Management Sales, and established a new office to better serve the company’s growing client base throughout New England. Mr. Thompson engages with individuals and corporations to identify, analyze, and achieve their ownership and travel objectives through a custom tailored program.

Mr. Thompson has more than 17 years of aviation experience, spanning Part 91, 121, 135 and 145 operations. Before joining TWC, he was Vice President of the Technical Services Group for Aviation Management Systems. Previously he was President of MV Air Group and Director of Maintenance for various operators.

TWC Aviation Earns NBAA Commercial Business Flying Safety Award, Six TWC Team Members Also Honored

NBAA Flying Safety Award - TWC AviationSAN JOSE, California (June 28, 2011) — TWC Aviation, Inc., a worldwide leader in private  aviation announced today the company has earned the NBAA Commercial Business Flying Safety Award for 26,838 hours in 11 accident-free years. According to the NBAA, the Flying Safety Awards cite exceptional achievement in maintaining safe flying operations.

Six TWC Aviation employees also earned NBAA Flying Safety Awards. Greg Paxson, Director of Maintenance, received the Maintenance/Avionics Technician Flying Safety Award for 21 accident-free years. Earning the Aviation Support Services Flying Safety Award for three accident-free years are Cherie Hecker, Assistant Director of Operations, Lori Spevak, Lead Flight Coordinator, Natalie Villareal, Flight Coordinator, Lauren Bennett, Flight Coordinator, and Mei Lan Wong, Compliance Specialist.

TWC Aviation Selected to Manage First US Registered Embraer Legacy 650

SAN JOSE, California (May 31, 2011) — TWC Aviation, Inc., a worldwide leader in private  aviation, and its wholly owned subsidiary ACM Aviation Services, Inc., today announced the addition of a brand new Embraer Legacy 650 to the firm’s managed fleet. TWC Aviation becomes the first company to manage a U.S. registered Legacy 650, and the first to add a Legacy 650 to its Air Carrier Certificate. The jet is based at the company’s facility in Singapore.

The Legacy 650 is the successor to Embraer’s Legacy 600 model. The Legacy 650 offers new Rolls-Royce engines and enhanced aerodynamics that boost fuel efficiency. With its range extended to 3,900 nautical miles, the 650 can fly nonstop from New York to London or Dubai to Singapore.
