Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day, they day fighting ceased to end World War I, and went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. (11/11/1918 at 11:00am). Following World War II, on June 1, 1954, it was renamed Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars.
While the day of November 11th is of historical significance, the true purpose of Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. It is because of these brave men and women that we enjoy the freedoms we have today.
From all of us at TWC Aviation……….Thank you for your service.

I attended the SCAA (Southern California Aviation Association) luncheon at Landmark Aviation yesterday. Ed Bolen’s message was pragmatic, “Don’t take a tool from the toolbox.” Ed explained that with any compiled list of The Best Company’s, you will find that 9 out of 10 will use general aviation as a tool in their tool box, yet the image of general aviation remains poor.
It begs the question as to why private aviation is touted in pop culture while at the same time, news columns wage class warfare over people with excess. I’m lead to believe that this image is perpetuated by popular culture in that private jets are only entertainment for the rich and famous. Ed Bolen could quickly get the message across by having a platinum recording artist sing about the productivity associated with general aviation. Until then… we need to use the power of grass roots in our aviation communities.
Ed concluded with what is the future of transportation, “Two miles of waterway will get you two miles in a boat, two miles of railroad will get you two miles on a train, and two miles of runway will get you anywhere in the world.” Spread the word.

This month TWC Aviation will exhibit at the next of an unprecedented eleven events scheduled this year, the Global Business Travel Association Convention in Denver. The GBTA Convention offers business travel companies the opportunity to do more than network. Attendees can also participate in timely and informative seminars and workshops hosted by industry leaders.
“We are excited to support the GBTA Convention,” says Scott Cutshall, Vice President of Marketing at TWC Aviation. “This event is a unique opportunity to share the benefits of business aviation with many of the country’s most active business travelers and corporate travel departments. They can not only become more productive with their human capital, they can access smaller markets and help local businesses there grow and prosper.”
Among the scheduled speakers this year are TSA Administrator John S. Pistole, British Airways CEO Keith Williams, US Airways CEO Doug Parker, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and many, many more. Attending this year’s convention on behalf of TWC will be Ms. Nancy Nicholas, Ms. Jill Rogers, and Mr. Rawley Valverde.
