At TWC, he oversees international flight activities, performs aircrew defense and travel training, and institutes safety protocols for all 300+ employees around the globe. Kris also teaches Corporate Aviation Safety at the University of Southern California.

The NBAA Security Council is a group of aviation safety professionals who offer guidance to flight departments in a post-September 11 environment. This includes the creation, maintenance, and promotion of aviation security best practices, interpreting and implementing TSA and other governmental agency regulations, and other important responsibilities. The council is also the liaison between members of the private, corporate, and cargo aviation industry as well as the nation’s policy makers, ensuring that each of us has a voice in legislation.

TWC Aviation is an aircraft management company, serving as a corporate flight department to a worldwide fleet of private business aircraft. Kris’ expertise and training in both Charter 135 and Owner 91 operations gives him a unique perspective. As a member of the council, his participation in the ongoing dialogue and sharing of best practices will enhance safety, privacy, security, and confidentiality in TWC’s operations. He will also be in position to help communicate the unique needs of business aviation to governmental organizations, and work with them to develop improved policies and procedures that raise the level of safety throughout our industry.

(11/11/1918 at 11:00am). Following World War II, on June 1, 1954, it was renamed Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars.

While the day of November 11th is of historical significance, the true purpose of Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. It is because of these brave men and women that we enjoy the freedoms we have today.

From all of us at TWC Aviation……….Thank you for your service.

I attended the SCAA (Southern California Aviation Association) luncheon at Landmark Aviation yesterday. Ed Bolen’s message was pragmatic, “Don’t take a tool from the toolbox.” Ed explained that with any compiled list of The Best Company’s, you will find that 9 out of 10 will use general aviation as a tool in their tool box, yet the image of general aviation remains poor.

It begs the question as to why private aviation is touted in pop culture while at the same time, news columns wage class warfare over people with excess. I’m lead to believe that this image is perpetuated by popular culture in that private jets are only entertainment for the rich and famous. Ed Bolen could quickly get the message across by having a platinum recording artist sing about the productivity associated with general aviation. Until then… we need to use the power of grass roots in our aviation communities.

Ed concluded with what is the future of transportation, “Two miles of waterway will get you two miles in a boat, two miles of railroad will get you two miles on a train, and two miles of runway will get you anywhere in the world.” Spread the word.

Attendees can also participate in timely and informative seminars and workshops hosted by industry leaders.

“We are excited to support the GBTA Convention,” says Scott Cutshall, Vice President of Marketing at TWC Aviation. “This event is a unique opportunity to share the benefits of business aviation with many of the country’s most active business travelers and corporate travel departments. They can not only become more productive with their human capital, they can access smaller markets and help local businesses there grow and prosper.”

Among the scheduled speakers this year are TSA Administrator John S. Pistole, British Airways CEO Keith Williams, US Airways CEO Doug Parker, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and many, many more. Attending this year’s convention on behalf of TWC will be Ms. Nancy Nicholas, Ms. Jill Rogers, and Mr. Rawley Valverde.

Next Thursday, July 14th, TWC Aviation will host a National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Regional Forum at San Jose International Airport. Business aviation leaders from across the nation will attend the event, which features informative seminars, networking events, exhibits, and static displays.

Agenda highlights include a presentation by George Rice of Rice & Associates on business aviation tax and regulatory issues, a general session on the latest challenges and opportunities for business aviation led by NBAA President Ed Bolen, and a business aviation update from Earl Weener, Ph.D. from the National Transportation Safety Board. There will also be an important discussion on tire safety with Keat Pruszenski of Michelin North America, Inc. More information is online at http://www.nbaa.org/events/forums/20110714/.

While the latest and greatest aircraft, operating procedures and aviation resources will be on display for attendees, the NBAA Regional events offer much more than information for regional operators and individuals who rely on business aviation services. These events provide a uniquely interactive opportunity for aviation industry vendors to network with one another, improving communication and developing a stronger voice in an increasingly hostile economic and political environment. Many of the relationships made at prior NBAA events, including the regional event TWC Aviation hosted at our Van Nuys facility in 2010, have lead to fleet-wide fuel savings, advertising agreements with some of the industry’s top publications, and other benefits of immeasurable value, both for TWC and for our clients.

TWC Aviation is proud to support this NBAA Regional Forum in San Jose, and we look forward to meeting you there! For more information please email info@twcaviation.com.
