TWC Aviation Earns Stage Two IS-BAO Status
LOS ANGELES (April 19, 2010)—TWC Aviation, Inc., a worldwide leader in private jet aviation, said today that it has been independently audited as successfully meeting Stage Two of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). The announcement
was made by Andrew Richmond, President of TWC Aviation, and Don Spruston, Director General of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), a nonprofit, private-sector council representing the global interests of business aviation.

Similar to ISO-9000, IS-BAO is a code of best practices that challenges flight departments to review current systems, programs, and procedures, recognize strengths and weaknesses, and adhere to the highest standards. IS-BAO Certificate of Registration is awarded after a rigorous, independent audit. TWC became an IS-BAO Registered Operator in April 2009, and is one of only a few Part 135 charter operators to achieve Stage Two IS-BAO registration.
Stage Two verifies that safety and operational systems, policies, and procedures are being effectively utilized throughout the company. The intensive, four-day audit process involved interviews with managers and staff in every department, at every level, and also sought feedback from TWC Aviation’s aircraft management, sales and acquisitions, and jet charter customers.
IS-BAO Safety Management System
IS-BAO is built around a Safety Management System (SMS), a quality management approach to controlling risk that helps form the core of a company’s safety efforts. The SMS provides company managers with a detailed roadmap for monitoring safety-related processes. TWC Aviation has had a formal SMS in place for more than three years, even though it is not yet required by the FAA.
